System Administrator

On behalf of our client in the telecommunications sector, we are looking for a System Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and development of the company’s server and IT infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on experience with Linux and server systems, along with the ability to ensure reliable operation, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve infrastructure performance and security. Experience in telecommunications and knowledge of telecommunications protocols will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers;
• Monitor server infrastructure, services, and system resources;
• Diagnose and resolve issues affecting operating systems, servers, and applications;
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system configurations;
• Apply updates, security patches, and system protection measures;
• Maintain backups and support system and data recovery;
• Maintain virtual environments and contribute to infrastructure development;
• Automate routine administration tasks;
• Collaborate with network and technical teams on service deployments and incident resolution;
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience administering Linux systems is essential;
• Practical experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers is essential;
• Good knowledge of Linux services, processes, logs, file systems, and access management;
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and core network services;
• Experience with virtualization and monitoring tools;
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently;
• Understanding of system security and backup best practices;
• Strong organizational skills, a responsible approach, and the ability to work in a team;
• Working proficiency in English sufficient to understand technical documentation.

Advantages

• Experience in a telecommunications company or with infrastructure supporting telecommunications services;
• Knowledge of telecommunications protocols and technologies;
• Experience with Bash, Python, or other automation tools;
• Experience with high-availability systems and disaster recovery.
